As part of the International Year of Cooperatives, the Gujarat SCARDB, widely known as Kheti Bank, proudly hosted an international delegation under the Cooperative Learning Visit organized by NAFCARD and the ICA-AP Committee on Credit and Banking (ICCB). Delegates from Indonesia, Jordan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vanuatu, and Palestine participated in this prestigious knowledge exchange event, aimed at strengthening global collaboration in cooperative banking and rural development. Shri Dolarbhai Kotecha, Hon’ble Chairman of Gujarat SCARDB & NAFCARD, welcomed the delegates with traditional Indian hospitality, presenting bouquets, shawls, and souvenirs as a mark of respect. In his address, he stated: “In a landmark decision, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji created the Ministry of Cooperation in July 2021, recognizing the transformative potential of the cooperative sector. He further entrusted the ministry to Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah ji, whose dynamic leadership and vision of ‘Cooperation Among Cooperatives’ and ‘Sahkar Se Samruddhi’ have redefined the role of cooperatives in nation-building.” Chairman Shri Kotecha emphasized how this vision aligns with Kheti Bank’s mission to empower farmers, promote women-led growth, and strengthen rural prosperity. The programme featured presentations on the vision, values and future roadmap of Gujarat SCARDB, highlighting its commitment to financial inclusion, innovation in cooperative credit and ethical rural development. Shri K.K. Ravindran, Managing Director of NAFCARD, appreciated India’s cooperative ecosystem and encouraged continued international partnerships. A detailed PowerPoint presentation showcased Gujarat SCARDB’s financial performance, loan portfolio and outreach strategies for sustainable rural credit delivery. The event also included a tree plantation ceremony inspired by Hon’ble PM Modi ji’s campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, with enthusiastic participation by all international guests — symbolising harmony with nature and commitment to future generations. The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressing deep appreciation to all delegates for their visit and reaffirming Gujarat SCARDB’s dedication to cooperative excellence.
